Small Baking Company creates delicious and approachable desserts and cakes for all types of events, big and small.
We use seasonal, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, including organic whole grains. At our farmers markets we offer rotating flavors of cookies, scones, cupcakes and sweet and savory breakfast pastries. Our menu changes along with the seasons. We also offer a wholesale menu to local shops.

Joanna received a pastry certificate from Tante Marie's in San Francisco and interned at Tartine Bakery during the morning bake. She then went on to work at Batter Bakery, where she learned the ins and outs of running a busy neighborhood bakery and how to incorporate whole grains into baked goods to elevate flavors. She moved to Oregon with her husband in 2015. Inspired by the style and flavors of the PNW, she opened Small Baking Company in 2016, baking out of a shared kitchen space in Portland. She is now a mom to a silly German Shepherd, a sweet human boy, and to her small business.
